Accountant &Administrator – Dar es salaam – WeWorld Tanzania

The A&A reports to the Country Administrator and is responsible for assisting with preparation of WW financial statements, revising partners’ reports, preparing annual audit, preparing the payrolls and personnel administration, maintaining petty cash control, purchasing, maintaining accounts payable and managing office operations. S/he must work within the Organization policies and procedures and in compliance with all Tanzanian Acts and Legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A certificate of post-secondary education, such as associate degree, exclusively in accounting, office administration, or other relevant appropriate branch of study.

At least 5+years of proven experience as administrator/finance officer of Non-Governmental Organizations.

The Accounting/Administrative must possess a professional attitude, strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact well with others. A good knowledge of the English language is a must. This position also requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting software.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS
– Be responsible of the records of bills, invoices, receipts as well as of financial reporting
– Prepare all necessary documentation for tax practices and legal procedures
– Manage and control of the cashbox
– Prepare payroll (salaries, consultancy fees and taxation) on authorization of the Country Representative.
– Prepare of the annual Government tax declaration
– Assist to all the staff for any administrative issue
– Perform NSSF, PAYE and SDL procedures
– Maintain relationship with public offices and public authorities such as TRA, Immigration Office, Registrar Office and other Tanzanian Institutions as well as with Embassies
– Keep in line both the procedures and the activities with the current legislation of The United Republic of Tanzania, as well as with any legislative change that might occur
– Be always updated about Labor Laws
– Ensure that all partners accounts and procedures meet NGO demands
– Monitor and adjust the accountancy reports of the Projects, prepared by the NGO partners
– Improve skills and competencies of the administrative staff of WW partners
– Deal with suppliers and purchase office materials upon request
– Maintain equipment inventories
– Assist the Country Administrator in the preparation of annual audit
