a) Assist Computer Systems manager (CSM) in daily operational functions of a LAN/WAN system, such as; perform network troubleshooting, network repairs, cable breaks, server data backups.
b) Responsible for new ADP orientation, planning, coordinating other related operations such as user directory creation, adding a new user, deleting a user; performs Server hardware and software upgrades such as upgrading MS Windows, LAN application software, LAN expansion (adding server, node, wiring etc.); troubleshoot and support ASIST/Documentum users
c) Assist Computer Systems manager in providing computer assistance and technical advices to the management and staff members. This includes the use & care of computers, preparation of complicated computerized reports, such as but not limited to, data-based programs mandated by requirements; and training users on how to use appropriately, easy methods and other time- saving operations; providing technical input, including specifications for computer hardware, peripherals and software;
d) Discuss with managerial, administrative and technical staff to determine information needs, data flows and systems definitions; responsible for assigning (in consultation with the CSM and EXO).
e) Setting up Computer hardware and related peripheral equipment; develop the Mission Automated Data Processing Procurement Plan based on staffing and program/project projections; assess user software needs and installs required software at initial set up and thereafter as needed.
f) Analyze operational problems and initiates corrective actions, or in complicated situations beyond capability, consult with the Systems Manager or Chief Information Office (CIO) technicians. Maintain records of problems encountered and resolution actions taken.
