Advisor Natural Resources Management – Dar es salaam – Gesellschaftfur Internationale Zusammenarbeit

Responsibilities
The advisor is responsible for:-
• Assisting programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of diverse target groups.
• Innovation and knowledge management.

Tasks

• Assists and monitors the development and implementation of NRM programme plans and activities in close consultation with counterparts.
• Facilitates and builds capacity for the establishment of a long term integrated environmental/spatial plan.
• Deals with the design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars and other events on issues connected with the programmes areas of activity.
• Supports cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners, assists with PR work and cooperates with local communities, relevant organizations, non-governmental agencies and individuals in the programme environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships.
• Ensures knowledge transfer to programme information.
• Compiles the relevant information for joint activities and assignments.
• Promotes interdepartmental cooperation, mainly regarding preparation of spatial plans, land use plans, village demarcation, etc.

Required Entry Qualifications and Competencies
• MSc in Wildlife Management, Natural Resources Management (majoring in Wildlife Management) or equivalent with a BSc in Wildlife Management.
• At least 5 years` professional experience in the fields of Conservation, Local Governance, Economic and/or spatial development planning.
• Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, MS Excel)
• Fluent in speaking and writing in Kiswahili and English.
• Should be prepared/ready to work and live in isolated rural areas and sometimes work under difficult conditions.
