Field Engineers – Mtwara – Dangote Industries Ltd

Job Summary
· Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the
power plant.
· Monitor the operations of the power plant to ensure its
functionality and output are stable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power, or to
regulate the flow of power between generating stations and
substations.
· Control generator output to match the phase, frequency, and
voltage of electricity supplied to panels.
· Monitor and inspect power plant equipment and indicators to
detect evidence of operating problems.
· Operate or control power generating equipment.
· Place standby emergency electrical generators on line in
emergencies and monitor the temperature, output, and lubrication of the
system.
· Regulate equipment operations and conditions such as water
levels, based on data from recording and indicating instruments or from
computers.
· Start or stop DG generators and connect or disconnect equipment
from circuits.
· Assist in troubleshooting and inspecting programmable logic
controllers, plant control systems and distributive control systems
including control card replacement and wiring terminations.
· Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the plant and control
room.
· Optimisation of DG operation like loading of DG’s and reduction
of specific diesel consumption etc.
· Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Control Room
Engineer from time to time.

Key Requirements
Education and Work Experience

· A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical
Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Skills and Competencies
· Very good analytical and problem solving skills
· Very good oral and written communication skill.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
