Senior Registered Nurse For Operating Theatre – Dar es salaam – CCBRT

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered NGO first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of disability and rehabilitation services in the country. CCBRT aims to empower people with disabilities and their families, improve their quality of life, and ensure access to medical and rehabilitative treatment. Committed to preventing disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities and is currently constructing a Maternity and Newborn Hospital which will serve as a referral centre for high risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

For our Orthopedic Theatre we are looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our team.

Duties to Include:
• Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients undergoing theatre procedures
• Managing quality and safety issues in Orthopedic theatre
• Observing proper time management.
• Communicating sensitive information concerning adult and child patient’s medical condition
• Attending training sessions as planned
• Standing at operating table/assisting surgeons and moving patients, trolleys and equipment several times a day when requested and necessary
• Controlling noise in theatre which should have calm and quiet atmosphere
• Accountable for own professional actions
• Attending staff meetings as invited
• Organizing work, and assist in ordering and preparing of equipment and medical supplies required for clinical procedures
• Following the cleaning plan according to meet hygiene standard
• Assisting in stock control and safe handling of all theatre equipment
• Communicating with surgeons effectively and ensure services of efficient work flow
• Reminding and keep record on maintenance and repairs of equipments, air conditioning etc

Work Experience / Skills:
• At least 6 years of experience in a hospital setting of which 2 years in a theatre (E)
• computer literate( E)
• Speak and write English and swahili (E)
• Good communication and Reporting writing skills (E)
• Pro active, innovative, flexible and self motivated (E)
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure (E)
• Ability to work under minimum supervision (E)

• Holder of Diploma in Nursing (E)
