General Manager – Dar es salaam – Tanzania Posts Corporation

Qualifications
• University degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent; or Professionally qualified Accountant with CPA, ACCA with Managerial experience in large organization.
• Possession of Masters degree (MBA) in Finance or Marketing or postgraduate Diploma will be an added advantage.
• Proven experience of not less than five years in a senior position in a reputable organization.

Reporting to: The Postmaster General

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for review, development, and implementation of relevant financial and accounting policies, regulations and guidelines according to generally acceptable professional ethics, standards and practices.
• To administer and supervise the routine functions of the four divisions/department under him/her.
• To monitor and review revenue growth forecast and advise management on action to take to ensure that financial revenue targets are achieved.
• To ensure that comprehensive, accurate and up to date accounts, financial statements and other periodic reports are prepared and submitted to management and Board of Directors as required.
• To ensure that corporation establishes and maintains effective procedures, controls and guidelines for cash management and financial discipline in the corporation.
• To ensure that the Annual Accounts of Tanzania Posts Corporation are prepared and submitted in time for external auditing as required by relevant provisions of the TPC ACT.
• To design and deploy appropriate information and communications technologies to modernize the accounting financial and management systems in order to replace the slow and inefficient manual processes and ensure maintenance of accurate data bases relating to the various business activities of the corporation.
• To coordinate and prepare the corporate plans including corporate human capital plan (CHCP) and policies relaying but not limited to the terms and condition of comployment, staff rules and regulations, human resources procurement, training and development to ensure that the corporation has the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies for the efficient operations and delivery of competitive quality services.
• Responsible for fostering sound industrial relations and promoting staff welfare to create and maintain a productive and cooperative workforce environment that make maximum contribution to labor productivity, quality of service, customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
• To initiate, formulate and recommend policies and strategies that promote employee involvement in the recovery and workplace, open communication, team work and cooperation in order enhance work performance in the corporation.
• To carry out product/service costing to determine unit costs and advice management on appropriate cost related tariff-fixing methodologies to ensure cost recovery and reasonable profit margin.
• To administer and supervise the activities of the divisions/sections under the department including human and financial resources to ensure that the responsibilities of the corporate services division contribute effectively to the attainment of the corporations goals.

Duty Station
The successful candidate will be stationed at Head Office, Dar es salaam
