GROW Fellow – WomenCraft Social Enterprise

WomenCraft’s mission is to increase economic opportunity in Ngara, Tanzania by bringing rural women together through a social enterprise, facilitating their growth and connecting them to world markets. WomenCraft implements GROW (Gaining Resilience and Opportunities for Women) which offers local economic development opportunities, such as income generation activities, Micro-Business in a Box, a Revolving Loan Fund, and training to over 700 individuals. GROW in a join project between Kabanga Nickel and WomenCraft and operates from Kabanga, Tanzania.
Position Description: WomenCraft offers an opportunity for a young professional to gain experience in local economic development by applying a monitoring and evaluation framework to the GROW project. The position assists the GROW team to implement monitoring and evaluation activities so that GROW’s activities are strengthened. The fellow captures GROW’s accomplishments and shares with donors. The GROW fellow will also provide organizational and administrative support so that GROW increases its effectiveness in implementation. This position will be supervised by the GROW Director with input from WomenCraft’s Founder.

Expected Projects and Skills Learned:
Implement Monitoring and evaluation framework. Understand the annual workplan. Work with the Founder to develop and apply a monitoring and evaluation framework to all activities. Track and measure progress towards measurable indicators.
Capacity Building. Build the capacity of the team members so that the data and reporting information they gather is accurate. Make reporting templates that staff members can use in the future.
Create Visual Reports. Learn about reporting requirements. Design visual materials that convey the success of the project to key stakeholders and donors, using tools like infographics. Manage a calendar to ensure all reporting requirements are met. Coordinate the submission of all reports, through the support of the GROW Director.
Apply organizational skills to project activities. Enhance the work of GROW by introducing creative ways to organize and streamline GROW’s activities, including developing tracking tools, calendars, etc.

Qualifications:
Monitoring and evaluation skills and/or experience
Ability to utilize design software
Excellent research, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
Ability to take initiative and work independently;
Ability to be flexible and make contributions as a member of a team;
Ability to live in a rural and isolated setting
Kiswahili language skills preferred
Position start: 15 April 2015 and for three months duration.
Stipend: For this particular position, GROW will cover the cost of room and board for the duration of the fellowship. The fellow is responsible to cover the cost of his/her relocation and travel costs.
