Human Resource Officer – Dar es salaam – Swissport Tanzania Plc

Position Objective
Supporting managers on disciplinary, grievance and absence management system, reporting, operating, guiding and synchronizing staff records in alignment with HR needs.

Responsibility and Accountabilities:
• Responsible for the day to day running of the HR Office, employee cycle from recruitment, induction, to exit, and for providing full administrative support to the HR Manager and Managers. Also accountable for;
• Performing a variety of human resources functions for all employees including handling of employee life cycle, HR support and advice. Ensuring the department complies with all recruitment policies, laws, and Regulations

• Manage HR information by producing regular statistical reports on HR metrics on staffing and ensures information on all staff is correctly and regularly updated
• Putting together new employee starter packs
• Setting up, monitoring and then tracking employee probationary periods
• Carrying out background and reference checks on prospective employees
• Acting as the first point of entry for newly recruited employees
• Maintenance of the HR records and systems
• Keeping track of any employee anniversaries when they are due
• Developing reports for Senior HR Officer on staff sick leave, absences and annual/holiday leaves
• Providing professional advise support to employees
• Update and maintain staff bulletin boards
• File electronic and hardcopy staff documents
• Escalate operational issues to senior management.
• Make travel arrangement and organize accommodation for staff and senior managers

Key Duties:
• Management of employee attendance, leave, disciplinary and grievance issues.
• Support the review and creation of HR policies and procedures in line with legislation.
• Interpret and advise managers and staff on terms and conditions of employment.
• Implementation of the organizations Recruitment and Selection procedures
• Plan and undertake special project work as required.
• Support managers and staff on all HR related matters
• Drive employee engagement and support company change management initiatives

Academic Qualification
• Holder of bachelor degree in Human Resources, Law, Social Science, or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources
• Highly developed organizational and administrative skills
• Skills in computer applications are mandatory, especially Microsoft Office
