Investments & Partnerships Officer – HakiElimu’s

We are looking for a person with:

Main responsibilities: Coordination, planning, development and management of a resource mobilization and partnership strategy to engage relevant partners, raise the necessary funds, and support HakiElimu’s work to realize its Vision and Mission.

Responsibilities:
(a) Fundraising Activities (60%)- Development and maintenance of fundraising and growth strategies, identification and cultivation of relationships with new potential donors and partners to secure funding, i.e. from corporates, bilaterals, multi-laterals, trusts ,foundations and other CSOs, Lead on the coordination of project development and proposal-writing for donors including off the shelf packages and strategic pitches, contract management etc.
(b) Donor Relationship Management and Reporting (20%) Lead on communications with existing donor partners, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Head Of Programs, Work closely with national and international partners e.g. TanFiDe for Quality Education in Tanzania in fundraising initiative for joint projects contributing to achievement of HakiElimu objectives, coordinate the preparation of HakiElimu and DPs biannual joint meetings, establish and manage the fundraising database.
(c) Strategic Direction (10%) – Lead on implementation of the Resources Mobilization and Investment Strategy
(d) PR, Marketing and Communication (5% )-Oversight of activities, meetings and events to raise the profile and visibility of the organization as the education experts in Tanzania ,coordinate production of fundraising materials, production of monthly and quarterly fundraising and income updates for review with the Management Team
(e) Other duties as required (5%)

Key Competencies: (a) Graduate level degree in relevant field (b) At least three years’ experience in fundraising and donor management including bilateral and multilateral donor relations (c) Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, including exceptional networking and representation skills at high-level meetings and events (d) Excellent proposal writing skills (e) Strong knowledge of current and future funding trends, as well as of development issues, education, civic participation, governance and accountability (f) An excellent understanding of project cycle management including problem/objective trees, stakeholder analysis, project planning, budgeting (g) Computer literate – competent in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (h) Experience of working in development in an African context (i) Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment (j) Ability to train and support staff to understand developing and managing donor relationships and funding (k) Knowledge of using online social platforms for fundraising, marketing and communications (l) Knowledge of Kiswahili will be an added advantage (m) Able to communicate clearly to diverse audiences, including donors, private sector partners, staff, management and government officials.
