Social Worker – Nafasi za Kazi Kigoma

Core Program responsibilities
1) Conduct case management activities for child protection cases identified in Nyarugusu camp
2) Conduct interviews to children and follow up for Best Interest Assessment and Best Interest Determination forms completion in collaboration with the Child Protection Supervisor, ensuring quality output
3) Support UNHCR during the repatriation of Separated Children (SC) and Un Accompanied Minors (UAMs)

Other Program responsibilities
a) Manage overall child protection activities at the camp level in collaboration with the Child Protection supervisor(CP-S)
b) Identify the social needs and the problems of the most vulnerable children; identify means for support
c) Carry out verification of separated children, unaccompanied minors, and other most vulnerable children
d) Facilitate family reunification and fostering of unaccompanied minors
e) Mobilize children and children caretaker committees to advocate for child rights
f) Mobilize the community and children living alone to encourage and accept fostering
g) Plan and conduct meetings, trainings and awareness campaigns in relation to child care and child protection, tracing and BID/BIA in collaboration with CP-S
h) Ensure child participation at all stages of programming
i) Monitor activities conducted by other Child Protection Officers and refugee animators in the camp
j) Provide guidance and support to refugee incentive staff (animators) on the community mobilization, counseling, recreational activities and other child protection activities.
k) Coordinate with other IRC sectors and NGOs present in the camp in community mobilization, referral systems and create awareness in an integrated manner.
l) Track indicators and prepare and submit activity reports to the Child Protection Supervisor (CP-S)
m) Prepare work plans, proposals and monthly/donor reports in collaboration with the Child Protection-Supervisor and/or other program staff as requested.
n) Track BID/BIA information gathered and send to Child Protection-Supervisor in weekly basis
o) Participate in the BID- panel held on weekly basis under UNHCR-Protection, with representatives from MHA, WLAC and other Child protection agencies.
p) Track the PSS and referral list of children and send it to Child Protection-Supervisor
q) Update SC and UAMs list in monthly basis and send it to Child Protection-Supervisor
