Heavy Mobile Equipment (Hme) Section Leader – ACACIA MINING

Job description
Acacia Mining seeks to employ an experienced HME Section Leader based at North Mara Gold Mine. This role reports to the Asset Reliability Manager and the role holder will be accountable to manage the HME maintenance department and ensure availability and reliability of the surface mining fleet. This includes the management of the facility, systems, contractors and any other equipment in the section.
This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.

Ensure safe work practices and adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
Set up and implement the required SOP’s.
Provide technical support on maintenance and troubleshooting.
Effectively manage maintenance and continuous improvement of the HME.
Team leadership, ensuring that team members are held accountable and all objectives are achieved.
Manage the budget for the section and initiate cost savings initiatives.
Set standards and ensure that spares and resources are available for effective maintenance.
Ensure that team members are trained and competent for their roles.
Ensure HME groups perform to pre-determined performance measures in safety, availability, reliability and costs.
Interface with various departments to ensure overall Company objectives are achieved.
Manage Contractors who support the maintenance function, ensuring that they work according to Acacia Standards and Policies.
Performance manage, appraise, coach and set up development plans for team members.
Display and promote the Acacia Behaviours.

Qualification Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Electrical/ Mechanical (Trade/ Diploma/ Degree)
Management Development Programme or similar would be an advantage
Valid driver’s license

Experience Requirements:
Ten years’ experience in a HME maintenance role.
Five years in a Supervisory or Leadership role in HME maintenance.
Experience with O&K RH 170/120 excavators and CAT 785 dump trucks recommended.
Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams on 24hr maintenance operations.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge & experience with O&K and CAT equipment and systems.
Knowledge of condition monitoring and reliability engineering related to HME
Business Improvement skills
Knowledge of the OH&S Legislation related to mining
Environmental Legislation
Risk Management
Computer Skills, Excel, Word, Outlook, Pronto etc.
Time management, scheduling and planning
