THE DLAB is looking for the dynamic innovative leader to direct activities and raise awareness nationally, regionally and globally. As the managing director you will be responsible for the delivery of all products you will manage a team of talented individuals and work with projects partner’s donors, and all dlab stakeholders. You will support and guide the team in the design and implement of a range of data and innovations projects in Tanzania as Managing Director you should be comfortable working in startup environmental coordinating all the activities of the individuals program pillars and taking on different roles with varying responsibilities finally as managing director you will prepare the post-DCLI funding period of dalab developing a sustainability, working on the establishment as a separate entity of UCC and developing funding and grand proposal for the future

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Management and administrations. The MD will provide general oversight of all dlab activities and proactively identifying and addressing project requirements with pillar leads
· Project development planning: the MD will guide and supervise staff on the design, implementations’ and evaluations of projects including the management of projects, budgets, partnership and project deliverables and compliance with donor requirements. The Md must carefully coordinates crossing programs to ensure efficient involvement of different pillars and partners
· Community relations: the MD will establish and foster key partnership with stakeholders in Tanzania and the region. The MD will also assist or if necessary take the lead in the identifications development and implementations of projects engagement and events conducted by the lab.. it is anticipated that the MD will become the lead evangelist for the work of the lab and for the use of the data for decision making generally, representing public meetings, conference and events including interactions with the media
· Financial management: the MD will review and approve the project spending priorities and monitor spending and donor compliance and donor compliance with support from the finance team, develop in partnership with the finance team six monthly spending a plan link it with the appropriate procurement process

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· At least 10 years experience in the design and management of complex projects and coordinator of multiple stakeholders with the divers priorities and interest
· Experience with management of budget narrative and financial reporting
· Knowledge basic monitoring and evaluations techniques
· Ability to engage and interact rang e of partners, building and sustains key relationship for the lab
· Experience in building and coordinating mult – stakeholder networks
· Excellent and oral written communications skills in English and Kiswahili
· Must be strong , confident public speaker, comfortable speaking and collaborating on the work
· Experience in facilitating workshop and trainings
· Ability to produce high quality data products is preferably but not required
· Dalab intends to be independent self-funded entity the future fundraising experience coupled with a solid foundations and knowledge of open government and open data is essential for this role

EDUCATIONS
· Bachelor’s level degree required master or higher desirable
